Vevo and music videos dominating the Viral Charts

Another bad day for any video that is not music and Vevo.  I counted 17 of the top 20 as music videos.  While I don't have a problem with music videos and I enjoy a great many.  It is such a shame that they dominate everything.  Videos that languished with a few views with a Vevo branding suddenly jump up the YouTube charts.  I feel sorry for everyone who will eventually simply be shown premium content and the home video will pale into insignificance.  I am proud of Harry and Charlie's clip doing it's bit to break the trend.  Although I doubt they will be in the top 20 on YouTube by the end of the year.

  5. Hi parents of Harry and Charlie!

I recognize the fact that YouTube is a place for people to upload their own homemade videos and stuff like that. The three most subscribed channels on YouTube. Are all made by individual people, whose simple goal is to please and serve the public, without the need of money from corporates. They do this quite well, and I watch a lot of nigahiga as well as Shane Dawson.

But you need to realize that the most watched thing on YouTube is pirated content, pirated music and so on. YouTube has also stated that if all this content was to be removed then viral activity on the site would go down a lot. Speaking not only for myself here, but all of my friends and their friends, I use YouTube to watch trailers, snippets of TV shows and most of all, use it to listen to music.

Of course, my friends and I also show each other content from people like yourself. Fun videos that are generally about babies and give us great laughs and something to enjoy for a few minutes, but afterwards we all show each other our favorite music videos or an atypical Japanese commercial, and honestly the latter is what makes us laugh until we cry.

I think it is very bad for you to write things that are indirectly perceived as negative, such as: "I am proud of Harry and Charlie's clip doing it's bit to break the trend. Although I doubt they will be in the top 20 on YouTube by the end of the year." When I read things like that, it makes me believe that you are truly annoyed and saddened by that fact that Harry and Charlie are no longer Nr.1. If you truly don't care about this stuff, ranking and what the viewers of YouTube watch, then I suggest you stop writing about it all together and focus on other things rather than "Oh well, at least Harry and Charlie were nr.1 before, stupid Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber don't deserve this."

Additionally, it wasn't Lady Gaga's choice nor was it Justin Bieber's choice to put their videos on YouTube and have them skyrocket past everything else, so please, don't be so ignorant and stupid as to say negative and bad things about these two artists.

"Charlie bit my finger - again !" is a YouTube classic, might as well be an internet classic. But you don't seem to realize that. Use this blog to write about Harry and Charlie in the real world, and not Harry and Charlie on YouTube, it's stupid to say that your video has gone down and will be "forever lost" in the years to come.
