King Arthur and the Sword in the Stone
The family went to an outdoor performance of a play - 'King Arthur and the Sword in the Stone' by the Cambridge Touring Theatre - Fun for all the family. It was great to be outside in the fresh air in a small amphitheatre at Waddesdon Manor. The performance and music were great. Harry and Jasper sat at the front. Charlie sat with me near the front at the side. The rain stayed away.
All the characters were great - the Magnificent Madam Mim standing out for me - while she was drinking cherry ade and being dizzy rather than doing Zumba :-)
They also handled the rather self confident child with parents that didn't seem to care he was annoying everyone including the cast albeit we could also all laugh at them too.
Highly recommend the whole experience for the family. HDC
They were all a bit taken by Merlin
it was getting a bit late at the end so was a bit chilly |

Day Trip to London July 2012
We try to get to London at least once every couple of months. Today we met up with some old work colleagues and took in Hyde Park. Lots of walking, watching squirrels, running and laughing. Jasper fell of his scooter the usual number of times and got hurt the usual number of times.
First stop Diana Memorial Playground
then some lunch and the Diana Memorial Fountain. Not a warm day but we filmed the boys playing in the fountain - maybe on for YouTube.

Never belive what other people want you to believe
For everyone that is trying to do something good you can guarantee there are a horde of people who are unable to be good and therefore do something far easier - be bad.
It is easier to destroy than construct, it is easier to criticise than do, it is easier to harm than heal.
It takes years to bring life into the world, to nurture, to grow to educate and ultimately for those people to give back in a positive way to society. However some have such a low value to life they can kill in an instance.
The point of this post? If you truly believe what you are doing is right, you are adhering to laws and you live within a positive environment there will be loads of people who would destroy what you have because they are unable to achieve anything good for themselves. Sure there are those who find themselves in situations where they fall outside of many things we take for granted but not as many as would claim.
If you know all this then you will never be influenced by these destructive people.
I have seen so much rubbish in the papers and on the radio in recent months about society being unfair, people not being responsible for their own actions etc. As I parent I am responsible for how my children turn out and behave, just as I am responsible for my own actions. I do not expect society to keep me restrained with countless rules that ultimately take away my right to think for myself.
Those who write hateful comments or try and proliferate lies have every right to do so for all the above reasons. Equally they are the lowest form of life as they have taken all the easy and negative choices in life. I would be ashamed to be their parents or them.

Boys in the Garden
What a funny day. At last the sun is shining, the evenings are longer and the boys can all play in the garden. Rupert did his first slide down a small slide on his own, head first, very silly but he laughed once he lifted his face out of the grass. Swings are in use. Castle is very popular. Pushing Jasper around in the car. Much yelling and screaming. Trampoline back up this weekend.
The world is good

Welcome Charlie to your sixth year
Any what better way to celebrate it with a Harry Potter party and a snake around your neck
For those of you in America we did allow ABC News to the party and into our home for an interview. Should be aired on Thursday.

New Your Times and general health update
If you haven't seen it there is an article in the New York Times today
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/10/world/europe/charlie-bit-my-finger-video-lifts-family-to-fame.html?_r=1
So much time over the last three weeks has been taken up with illness, or at least we have got on with our daily lives as best as possible but spare time has not been a luxury. The photo below which they used in the above article shows Charlie with a blood shot eye. Poor thing has not been well for a couple of weeks with a cough and flu like symptoms, then he caught conjunctivitis hence the blood shot eye. Life has not been much fun.
The whole family has been in bed recovering at some point in the last couple of weeks. Generally it has not been a great place to be. We have managed to fit in some people coming round for photos and questions but it took a lot out of everyone.
Hopefully everyone is much better now expect Rupert who is still struggling with Teething.
Blogs, Videos, Facebook updates etc are only done in the spare time we can find so they are the first thing to go when someone is not well or some other emergency is going on which is also quite often :(
Cheers.

German Film Crew
A long but great day with a German film crew. The crew was great with the boys and everything went very smoothly.
I have some video of the boys on the tracks. They absolutely enjoyed this. We also played in the garden and Harry and Charlie did pretty well answering questions.
Thanks Claus.
The boys enjoyed helping with everything. Charlie and Jasper here |
